Learn how to use your sloper

Join curvy fitting expert Jenny Rushmore to learn how to make and use the well-fitting sloper of your dreams in Cashmerette Sloper School, an 11-week interactive fitting course.

Once you have a beautifully fitting sloper, Jenny will teach you to use it to fit new patterns, and even create your own well-fitting designs.

Fit once, sew confidently forever!

What is a sloper?

A fitting sloper is a basic, closely fitting pattern that you refine until it fits your body really well. Think of it as your personal blueprint, crafted just for you (and by you!), with your unique measurements and curves.

Why use a sloper?

Using a sloper helps you to skip endless fitting rounds every time you try a new pattern. Fit your sloper once, and then use it to alter new patterns, or even create new designs that you know will fit you!

Is Sloper School for me?

You will LOVE Sloper School if…

  • You are tired of spending tons of time fitting new patterns when you could be designing or sewing
  • You’ve struggled to learn to fit, because you need to go beyond the “standard” adjustments covered in most books and tutorials
  • You’ve found it hard to learn to fit alone, and want personal feedback from fitting expert Jenny Rushmore and her team, and to be able to get support from other people going through the same process
  • You’ve tried to make a sloper but given up because most traditional “draft it yourself” techniques don’t work well for curvy or busty bodies
  • You like the idea of making a custom-fit sloper, but you don’t understand how to use it to make other patterns, or adjust new patterns to fit.

Can I do this course by myself?

Yes! Sloper School is designed for sewists who are working solo from home—no fitting buddy or mannequin needed.

Will I learn to fit?

Yes! Each week in Sloper School you'll learn how to create a beautiful custom fit in your sloper, from Jenny Rushmore, best-selling author and curvy fit expert. Not only will you get easy to follow videos you can watch (and re-watch) anytime and a downloadable workbook, but you'll also have direct access to Jenny and her team to get personal advice, just for you.

How does Sloper School work?

Start with a sloper pattern

You’ll receive a free pattern when you enroll: the Wyman Dress Sloper, a fitting sloper PDF pattern in sizes 0-32 and cup sizes C-H that I’ve designed specifically to be used as as the starting point for your custom-fit sloper.

You don’t need to learn how to pattern draft from scratch!

Create a custom fit

Each week, I show you how to fit a specific area of the sloper to your body in a detailed video lesson.

I share advanced fitting techniques (beyond the standard adjustments), demonstrating on three models so that you can see how it actually looks in practice.

Learn to use your sloper

Once your sloper fits you well, I take you through exactly how to use your sloper to save you time in the future, and unleash your creativity.

I cover both how to use your sloper to assess a new pattern, and how to hack your sloper to create infinite designs that you can guarantee will fit.

Get personal feedback

Join the live Fit Clinics hosted on Zoom, where you can get my personal help on your fitting challenges! Each Fit Clinic will be recorded and available to watch later if you can’t attend.

And you can get one-on-one fitting feedback from me and the Cashmerette team anytime over email or in course discussions.

Chart your progress

You’ll be able to follow along with me and track your fitting journey in a Sloper School-exclusive downloadable, printable workbook that includes comprehensive fitting checklists and detailed instructions on how to use your sloper.

Watch on-demand fitting videos

Want to get ahead, or have questions beyond that week’s topic?

In addition to the weekly video lessons, you’ll get instant access to over 15 hours of on-demand fitting tutorials in the Fitting Library, from the Cashmerette Club.

Join a cohort of sewists from around the world

Best of all—you don’t have to do it alone!

You’ll be joining a community of curvy sewists from around the world who are on the same fitting journey, and who are learning together and helping each other with any fitting challenge you can imagine.

What our students are saying

Questions? We have answers.

What is a fitting sloper?

A fitting sloper is a basic, closely fitted pattern that you refine until it fits your body really well—and then you can use it to adjust other sewing patterns to fit you without endless rounds of muslins, or you can use it to create infinite different looks through hacking techniques.

Can I sign up for Sloper School at any time?

Unlike my previous online workshops, Sloper School runs in sessions, and enrollment happens in a limited timeframe. The course runs for 11 weeks and after it ends, you’ll have unlimited access to all the materials.

When does Sloper School enrollment open?

Sloper School enrollment opens in April 2025!

Do I have to keep up with the lessons every week?

While it’s ideal to keep up with the lessons every week to make the most of the live Fit Clinics and community discussion, everything will be recorded and you can come back any time later to work at your own pace. That means you’ll have over 25 hours of online instruction that you can also refer back to at any time in the future!

I don't know much about fitting. Is Sloper School right for me?

This is a great course for sewists at any stage of their fitting journey, even if you’ve never tried fitting before! However, you will need to know how to do basic sewing.

I don't have anyone who can help me fit. Can I still do this course?

Yes! Sloper School is designed for sewists who are working solo from home. But between the whole student community online, and the Cashmerette team, you’ll never feel alone in your fitting journey! I assume you’re working on this by yourself at home—but you’ll have a whole community online helping you, too.

How is Sloper School different from Fitting for Curves?

Sloper School is a totally different approach to fitting, and a new type of course from Cashmerette. In Sloper School, I focus on one fitted, woven dress and work through all the relevant fitting issues, before then teaching you how to use your sloper to adjust new patterns quickly and easily, and hack it into other designs.

There are demos on models with different body shapes, advanced fitting techniques not covered in “Fitting for Curves”, you can get personal fit feedback from me (Jenny Rushmore) and the Cashmerette team, and you’ll be part of a real-time, 11 week program, with a group of enthusiastic sewists from around the world.

Do I need to be in Cashmerette Club to enroll in Sloper School?

This course is open to everyone! You can enroll in Sloper School for a one-time payment of $175 USD. But if you’re a Club member, it’s even better! All Access club members can enroll for free, and monthly Base & Plus members get a discount—see your Club Dashboard for more details.

I live outside the United States. Can I participate in Sloper School?

Yes, the course is entirely online and open to anyone around the world. For the live Fit Clinics, I’ll be holding them at 2pm and 8:30pm ET to try to maximize the chance everyone can participate, and they’ll also be recorded so you can watch them later if you weren’t able to join live.

Meet the Wyman Dress Sloper

What is the Wyman Dress?

The Wyman is a fitting sloper PDF sewing pattern in sizes 0-32 and cup sizes C-H.

It has actual pattern pieces that you can print at home or at a copy shop—this is not a draft-your-own-sloper guide!

And it comes with a detailed instruction booklet and a free video sewalong.

What makes it special?

The Wyman includes sloper-specific features, including balance lines to help you assess the fit of your muslin more easily, and a wide seam allowance for more convenient fitting alterations.

The bodice

The Wyman features a fitted bodice with bust darts, and front and back waist darts.

The skirt

The Wyman features a fitted knee-length skirt with front and back waist darts.

The sleeves

The Wyman includes two long sleeve options: a one-piece sleeve with an elbow dart and a two-piece sleeve.
