Finally made this

I know this is the first pattern Cashmerette released and I had been holding on to it. I finally made it and I will make another one, for certain. One test of a good pattern is how easy it is to match stripes. I purchased some on deep discounted striped fabric to make this dress. It went together beautifully! All the sides matched and the stripes were easy to match. I made it in a 20 in the largest cup size (E-F is it? I can never remember). Although it's not my preferred colors, it fits nicely and it went together easily. Sadly, because it's not in a stripe I particularly like, I don't wear it and why I will be making another in a more pleasing pattern.

easy to follow but needed adjustments for me

I wear a 32HH bra and found the pattern needed a lot of altering to work for me. I followed the instructions for my measurements but still needed to lower the wrap ties another 1.5". I'm new to sewing so this was probably less about the pattern and more my learning process. I made a wrap top and will wear it a few times before I decide if I need to alter it more to make a dress. Instructions were very clear. The video helped.

A real wrap over dress

The Appleton is a really comfortable%2C easy to wear dress. The only difficulty I found was attaching the neckband to the rest of the dress but you manage in the end with patience…%0D%0AI made the 1st dress a little longer but on my 2nd version %28in a beautiful Italian jersey print%29 I forgot to add the extra length to half of the dress … so had to go for the pattern length which I find a bit short.%0D%0AAlso on the long sleeved version the wrist are quite “snug” and I have tiny wrists.%0D%0AAll in all I think it’s one of the best wrap over dress patterns available.

Appleton dress

It looked fabulous. I have to give credit to the size calculator. Based on my measurements, I would have make a straight size. Using the calculator I graded between sizes although it looked wrong, and my dress fit perfectly. I have not made any other pattern that fits me better
