A joy to sew!

This is the first garment I’ve made that I can wear with complete confidence. I’ve always struggled with fit mainly due to a larger bust size. I bought this pattern based on the reviews and the style which I liked. I used the size calculator and made the size indicated in a v neck darted bodice and tea length skirt to attend a wedding - it fits like a dream! Give it a try, you’ll love it!

I thought I couldn't sew

I've never succeeded in sewing a wearable garment before. This pattern was recommended by several people so I gave it a try. I carefully matched my real measurements to the pattern, and not only did I get a wearable skirt, it even fits me.

Amazing!

While I have only been sewing for about 4 months, the easy-to-follow instructions and photos helped me make this dress! I made the version with the pleated skirt - it turned out so cute and I have gotten so many compliments! I plan on making another and experimenting with sleeves. I had a great time challenging myself to make this!

The Bedrock of many of my dresses

I love the Upton so much! Once I had the bodice fitted to my body, it's become my go to pattern to branch out from.
For my niece's wedding I attached a pencil skirt to the bodice in a bright cotton sateen stretch and got so many compliments for my dress, which cost me around 30$ but made me look like a million bucks!
The pleated skirt has been hacked into many a colourful skirt as well.

All in all, this has been a return on investment, both in terms of time and money, that all the other patterns in my collection can only dream of!

Huge

According the measurements I was one size. Infact they said if should have been tight and it was 4 sizes to big

Hi Elizabeth! We've reached out to you directly by email to help out - the Upton is a fitted style so if it's coming up 4 sizes too big something's definitely going wrong there. We an definitely get you in the right size!

Love it

Haven't sewn in at least a decade. I have a ton of vintage fabrics my mother brought back from travels to China and Scotland. I used a 50-yo shantung silk and it worked beautifully for this dress. I'm pretty sure my issues, especially with grading sizes, is more due to operator error than anything to do with the pattern! I want to join the monthly club, just trying to justify the $$$ right now.
